That's really cool about Gerard Way. He's written some really great comics IMO and has solid storytelling chops. Cool to know D&D helped him hone them!
I've read the first two volumes of the Umbrella Academy in their collected graphic novel format and enjoyed them a bunch.
I thought his Doom Patrol was really strong as well. He's definitely a disciple of Grant Morrison, which suits me just fine, haha.
