Loving “Dragon” and the way it segues into “Gila Monster” is perfect. They are indeed loud and frenetic, but to me, don’t sound as death metal-like as Infest the Rats Nest. I haven’t heard the rest of the new album but I’m liking it more than Infest so far.
I listened to the whole album on Spotify today. Sounds great to me start to finish, although I'll have to get use to the album running order, which flips Gila Monster and Dragon. I missed out on ordering one of the limited edition vinyl copies from their website :-(
I'm sure you'll be able to find a copy online somewhere for 10x the price! And in my head I get flipping "Gila Monster" and "Dragon," -- "Gila" being the amuse bouche before the meal that is "Dragon" -- but sonically I really loved how them the other way, the first couple times I heard them.
Looks like I can pre-order a regular version vinyl from Amazon for $45.99. I guess I'll check to see if any local record stores end up carrying one of the special versions first, so I can best experience the nouvelle cuisine de PetroDragonic Apocalypse.
